Students at St.Charles College Stands up for the Bees!

It’s a match made for the bees. Students in Mrs. Burch’s grade 10 religion class teamed up with the elementary Life Skills students under the direction of Mrs. Chalut to make beeswax lip balm.

Both groups have been learning about the importance of protecting bees in today’s environment. They have grown plants that attract bees by promoting pollination and then decided to partner up and take it a step further.

The lip balm will be given to the mothers of the students as a kind gesture for Mother’s Day and the Business students, who are now inspired by the work of this class have started a “save the bees” campaign complete with t-shirts that will be made by our students in Open Doors and then sold to students throughout the building to raise awareness of bee education.
