St. Charles College Student Ryan Scarpellini Appointed as Student Trustee

Board Chair Michael Bellmore shakes the hand of Student Trustee Ryan Scarpellini

The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Scarpellini as the Student Trustee for the 2019-2020 School Year. Ryan was appointed to this position at the April 16 Board of Trustees meeting. Ryan will be entering Grade 12 in the Fall of 2019 at St. Charles College.

Ryan has been enrolled in the French Immersion program
for 13 years and is passionate about the Francophone culture that is present at
both St. Charles College and at the Sudbury Catholic District School Board. He hopes
to one day have a career in the education field, teaching French Immersion at
the secondary level. Ryan is also very involved within the school community at St.
Charles College. He is a member of both the Student Senate and the Student
Council, which has allowed him to help organize food drives, cancer fundraisers
and other school functions.

Ryan has been a member of many sports teams throughout
his years at St. Charles College including football, hockey, soccer, golf and
badminton. He believes that participating in the extracurricular activities
provided him with communication and intrapersonal skills, and he enjoys being
part of a team!

“I feel extremely blessed and proud to
have been selected as the next Student Trustee of the Sudbury Catholic District
School Board,” said Ryan Scarpellini, newly appointed Student Trustee. “I’m
excited to become the voice of the students at Sudbury Catholic Schools and I look
forward to the opportunity to learn and work with a great group of
people.”

“We are excited to welcome Ryan
to the position of Student Trustee,” said Michael Bellmore, Chairperson of the
Board of Trustees at the Sudbury Catholic District School Board. “His
leadership skills and commitment to promoting Catholic education and French
Immersion will be a definite asset to our Board. We look forward to working
with him throughout the next school year.”
